And We’re Back!!

Hey everyone,
As you may have noticed, we’ve been offline for about a week now, and we apologize for that. The shutdown of blinkdagger.com came as a surprise to us well. Apparently, our web host (Blue Host) is under no obligation to warn us before suspending our account. They shut down blinkdagger with ZERO warning. When we called in to figure out what the problem was, they very vaguely said it was some MYSQL issues that was overloading their servers in one way or another. A warning would have been extremely helpful as we could have resolved the issue before it became critical.
The people at Bluehost.com essentially told us that they would be shutting our site down and that we would have 15 days to back up all our data before it was deleted from their servers. As you can expect, Daniel and I were not in the least bit happy. Their customer service was very shoddy and on the verge of being rude. We will never deal with Blue Host ever again and if anyone out there does use Blue Host, be prepared if they decide to shut you down with no warning.
As of now, we have found a new home at Media Temple. The cost is a little bit higher, but so far I can say that we’ve been satisfied with the customer service.
Since we had to transfer all our data from one server to another, there have been some glitches and malfunctions here and there. If you notice something that looks wrong or if a picture is missing, please let us know so that we can fix it up!

You had me worried, I’ve been having to learn Matlab GUI programming for a project I’m doing and this site saved me! Easily the best info I’ve come across(and I’ve looked everywhere), so glad to see you back online!
Hey Benty,
Glad to see someone noticed that we were gone! Thanks for the support.

I’ve been lost for a bit for a week and been relying on search engine caches to access your content. Which is a bit useless because it doesn’t index the images properly. I’ve downloaded your tutorials to my hard disk just in case something happens again to your server again. Hope you stay up.
@ BlueHost,
BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
@ Quan,
Given the couple of responses that some folks rely on the tutorials, at some point should we think about collecting them into a more “durable” medium? I’m not well versed here, but maybe an on-demand printing, or maybe an e-book? There could be blinkdagger on Kindles all over the place. Just a thought.

pdf files have been requested. It is something we have thought about, but have not taken action on. I am gonna go eat all the pie now… none for you!
Heyyy! You’re back!!!
I second everything my collegues said before: you are the BEST tutorials site on the net, a need for GUI initiates! And once I finally found you, you disappear! Hah! It’s been a big fright!
If this ever happens again (God, no! XD), leave a notice at any forum so we know that you haven’t given up or something!
Rob pointed it out: you’ve got material enough for a best-seller book or e-book! Think of it!
And welcome back!
@ Miguel
Thanks a lot! I don’t think it will happen again :-). The msg on forum is a good idea. Didn’t think of that!
