itsmybrain3.gifIn my opinion, one of the most fascinating things about human nature is addiction. Although addiction sometimes has a negative connotation attached to it, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. Maybe your addiction is blogging, or maybe it’s something innocuous like checking your email.

Everyone has their own addiction and today I would like to share mine. I love to play DoTA until the wee hours of the night, even though I have work the next day. What’s DoTA? It’s quite possibly the most addictive video game known to man. I’m afraid that if I discuss it in any more details, that anyone reading this post might actually succumb to the dark side. So I digress.

Another addiction of mine is coca-cola. Almost every meal that I eat is accompanied with a nice refreshing coke. I can’t help it; it’s just too good. I find it hard to believe that when I was younger, I used to prefer Pepsi over Coke. Sadly, I wish I had more constructive addictions. It would be nice if I were addicted to writing Matlab Tutorials, or maybe an addiction to writing better content for my own site would be nice too. But unfortunately, that is not the case.

Okay, so I listed two addictions so far. The last one would have to be SLEEP! I’m addicted to sleeping. I love taking naps during the day. On the weekends I love to wake up and have some breakfast, and then go back to sleep for a couple hours. Granted, this really messes up my circadian rhythm, but I just can’t help it. When I feel the slightest hint of sleepiness, I just lie down and I am out for the count. So you can imagine that my typical weekend is playing DoTA with a coke in hand, and taking naps after I get tired.

Being an avid blog reader, I have come to appreciate posts that focus more on the humane side of the blogger. Ritu has done a pretty good job of keeping it real with his recent post Where Do You Hide? Personally, I like to see character and personality within the blogs that I read on a daily basis. I feel that developing that connection between blogger and reader is critical because it shows the reader that there is a real human being behind that blog. So if you’re reading this, just know that there is a real live person behind this blog.

Anyhow, I’ve shared some of my addictions, what are some of yours?
